The end of the calendar year is the time for reflection and inspection and lists. Lots and lots of list. Good times. Bad times. So-so times, people, places and spaces. The lists make interesting reading and if nothing else provide easy talk-show fodder for radio and TV shows. While Mr. Blackwell's "worst dressed" list draws reviews for what many consider the wrong reasons - that being to snicker and poo-poo the designs and outfits dared to be worn by stars at events - any list in automotive circles draws similar guffaws for those who believe a different car was faster, smoother, and click-snicked its gears with greater ease than a competitor.

There's a lot of fancy awards going on around the automotive industry. Car and Driver have the 10 Best, Motor Trend has their own car and truck of the year, and there's even the North American Car and Truck of the year, just to name a few. Unfortunately all of these award are voted on by editors and writers, not by you. Now a new award is set to change all that.

We first took this GT-500 out for a spin in 2007. When we updated the site a few months ago we waited to re-up this popular image gallery of the Shelby climbing up the Mt Washington auto road. It's been a hit on Flickr so we're bringing it back for all our new visitors to enjoy.
