Cadillac unveils CTS Coupe, announces CTS-V Coupe – We’re in love!

November 23rd, 2009 | by Eric Moretti

Cadillac announced the much anticipated CTS Coupe and will be bringing it to the LA Autoshow. Set for production for Spring of 2010 with the V-series variant to follow that fall, Cadillac says the Coupe comes virtually unchanged from the concept unveiled in Detroit in 2008. Cadillac wanted to extend their Art and Science design philosophy and the CTS brand with the Coupe, which now sits along the CTS Wagon as well. Naturally, the base engine is GM's potent 304-hp V6 which gets 27 mpg on the highway. Much to drivers delight the Coupe will be available with a 6-speed manual in both RWD and AWD versions. However, if you're part of the camp that doesn't prefer to row for yourself there will be a 6-speed automatic as well. Other desirable options include a "Performance Package with 18-inch wheels and all-season tires (available in both RWD and AWD,)" or the " the Summer Tire Performance Package, with 19-inch tires and wheels and a higher level of road holding capability. StabiliTrak, the advanced electronic chassis control system, is standard." The base Caddy is no slouch in the handling department featuring Independent SLA front suspension, a multi-link rear suspension and a limited-slip differential. It's no wonder why Cadillac is different the Recaro seats in the base coupe. Click past the break for slew of photographs, full specifications, and the official press release

Lexus Announces 2010 GX 460

November 23rd, 2009 | by Eric Moretti

Lexus released its new luxury SUV, expected to debut at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in China. The engine is Toyota's new 4.6 V8. While smaller than the current GX 470, the 460 packs more of a punch with 301 HP and 327 lb-ft of torque. The added power will certainly help motivate the SUV a bit better than the 4.7 V8 it replaces, which had 263 HP. Also, the LX 470 picks up a 6-Speed transmission. These features bring the GX up to 17 mpg combined from 15 mpg with the out-going 470 leaving the new GX with a 15/20 mpg city/highway rating

Lotus Evora Pricing Announced, Starts at $73,500

November 17th, 2009 | by Eric Moretti

Lotus has announced the pricing information its new Evora. Starting at $73,500, the new British rocket will use a 276-hp V6 sourced from Toyota. The motor will push the Evora to 60 in a tick under 5 seconds and get an estimated 30 mpg on the highway, albeit not at the same time. The option list of the Evora is short but offers some nice upgrades. Depending on your driving persuasion there is a Sport Package which offers an “enhanced throttle response and RPM limit” and cross-drilled brakes among other performance oriented options. If you’re more into the GT scene, the Premium Package features leather and other trim upgrades. Those two packages run in at $1,275 and $1,990 respectively. One option we’re watching closely is the $495 rear-view camera. Looking at the rear window of the Evora gives us the impression it just might come in a bit handier than titanium exhaust tips. SEMA 2009: “Powered by Ford”, dominated by Chevy Camaro

November 10th, 2009 | by Zane Merva

It was hard to miss that this year's SEMA show was heavily sponsored by Ford Motor Company. "Powered by Ford" was on almost every promo banner in sight. However, you'd spent too much time in the Ford booth if you didn't come away with the impression that the real crowd favorite this year, the true power behind this year's show, was the Chevrolet Camaro.
