Formula Drift “The Gauntlet” 2009 – Footage By Joshua Herron – PT.2

If you enjoyed part 1 where we featured the video by Will Roegge, then you are going to love part 2 of our featured videos of NJ Formula Drift event. This video was shot by Joshua Herron. This was Joshua’s first time ever being at the wall shooting an event and from his personal blog, he could only describe the track as being “NUTS!”. This video truly shows us how crazy this race track is.

“During the second half of my trip out to the east coast (and the main reason for me going) I headed to Wall, New Jersey to film the third round in the 2009 Formula D series. This was my first time ever being at Wall, and let me tell you…the track is NUTS! I can see why virtually all of the drivers hate the track, but at the same time, I know exactly why the fans love to watch it. From my understanding it is the longest course on the Formula D circuit (thus far).”

Formula Drift Info:

Entering its sixth season, Formula DRIFT is recognized as the North American professional drifting championship series. As the first official series in North America, Formula DRIFT has taken competitive motorsports to the extreme attracting fans and car enthusiasts from all walks of life. This high-skilled, high-powered motor sport where drivers intentionally maneuver their cars into well executed, controlled sideways slides at high speeds through a marked course, has more than 60 professional drivers competing in all seven competitions this year.

Judged on execution and style, rather than who finishes the course in the fastest time, Drifting is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, and is often compared to the freestyle nature of skateboarding and motocross.

Formula DRIFT and the drivers serve as ambassadors for the sport of drifting bringing exhibitions to traditional/mainstream motor sports events across the country which have included: multiple Champ Car World Series races, American Le Mans, USAC, NASCAR Busch North & Featherlite Southwest and the SPEED World Challenge, among others.
