This information was given in a statement earlier today by Daniel P. Kuhnert (Mitsubishi of North America Marketing President)
Update: Mitsubishi has announced official upgrades and pricing for its 2011 Lancer Ralliart turbocharged AWD sedan. The 2011 Lancer Ralliart will come with a 242hp (258 lb-ft of torque) turbocharged four-cylinder – up 5 horsepower from the 2010 version of the same 4B11 engine. The 2011 model will also have an optional 5 speed manual transmission as well as a TC-SST dual-clutch gearbox. Pricing for the manual transmission will start at $25,190, and the dual-clutch version will start at $26,590.
According to Mitsubishi the new 2011 Lancer Ralliart will also be 90 lbs lighter than the outgoing 2010 model. The biggest change from 2010 to 2011 will be better wheels and tires. The new Ralliart will come standard with 18 x 8.5-inch Enkei wheels (same as in the Evo GSR) that will carry 245/40R18 Yokohama ADVAN asymmetrical performance tires, a change from the mild 215mm Yokohama tires of the previous model year. The 2011 Ralliart will also gain slightly larger fenders in order to house the new bigger wheels and tires.
Mitsubishi says that the new Ralliart will have a .5 second quicker 0-60 time, giving the car a 0-60 in 5.4 seconds (2010 model did a 0-60 in 5.9 seconds). Considering that the $34,990 rally bred Lancer Evolution GSR does a 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, the new Ralliart looks pretty impressive.

Looks like I got excited for no reason. I just spoke to my friend that owns a Mitsu dealer who confirms this is not true and that Daniel Kuhnert has not worked at Mitsu for months. He resigned early in the year. Where did you get this info?? Doesn’t sound right. There’s no pricing on 2010 Lancer that I can find (dealer also confirmed no pricing has been released). How are you able to find 2011??

This IS true, I work for a Mitsubishi dealership and I got a long e-mail about this information today. The public isn’t supposed to know about this yet. Apparantly someone at the website Carcrazy stole the information.

I’m pretty sure that this info is legit. I manage a Subaru dealership in the gulf south, and I was told a few weeks ago from a reliable source that Mitsubishi was going to make performance enhancements to their Ralliart model to better compete with our WRX. The above (autoinsane) story is very accurate from what my source told me.

This news story is accurate from what I can tell. I work at Mitsubishi and I was sent an e-mail about the Ralliart getting an upgrade for the 2011 model year (late 2010) a few months back.

Evoguy:
Daniel Kuhnert resigned from Mitsubishi in March of this year. This story first broke in March on Carcrazy.com. A few months later this story was posted on both the roadandtrack forums and on the motortrend forums. From what I am hearing this news story is 100% true.

I truly hope you guys are right about this. I’m currently hunting for a new car and the Ralliart is been my first choice (followed by the new VW GTI) I currently own the 2005 Realliart model and I staying wit Mitsu makes a lot more sense to me, mostly now after hearing about the improve chances for the 2011 model. The thing I hate about it is the wait. I want to buy a car in the next few weeks or even a month, not until the end of the year!!

I wonder when it will be out, I’m buying one before this 2010 August. Hoping it comes before that =)
