The $100,000 Chrysler “Thank You” To America

With all the controversy surrounding government assistance for the US auto industry- at least Chrysler has the courtesy to thank the American people for giving up their hard earned tax money- by spending $100,000 on a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal. Wait- what?!

Yeah- you read that right.  We’ll save the editorial comments but we assume you’re as outraged about this as we are. A simple press release would have been fine by us.

Here’s the statement and ad. What do you think? Leave us a comment below.

Auburn Hills, Mich., Dec 22, 2008 – On behalf of the 1 million people who depend on Chrysler LLC, Chairman Bob Nardelli says ‘Thank You America” for investing in the Company with a loan of $4 billion to help bridge the current financial crisis. The print ad breaks Dec. 22, a few days after Chrysler LLC received news that the U.S. Treasury will provide initial funding to the Company from the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) as a loan.
