Mike Rowe And Ford Pit The 09 F-150 Against The Competition

When Ford invited journalists out to the Michigan Proving Grounds last month, they emphasized and encouraged comparisons to the competition. Shortly after we returned, we posted a set of videos that compared the 2009 F-150, Silverado, Tundra, and Ram running Ford’s legendary Silver Creek 1 durability test.

Not content with letting journalists spread the word (we don’t blame them), Ford has launched a new website for consumers that outlines the same characteristics of the new model that they conveyed to the media.

Already seen promoting the F-150 in television commercials, Mike Rowe of “Dirty Jobs” on the Discovery Channel hosts the site along side 2009 F-150 Chief Engineer Matt O’Leary.

On the site, visitors can watch as the new F-150 goes head to head against the competition in four real world tests including towing, durability, fuel economy, and hauling.

Ford fan or not, the new “Built Ford Tough” website is worth the look.  Having watched many of these tests first-hand it’s a breath of fresh air to see honesty in marketing. There’s nothing like letting the product talk for itself.
